Detailed Information for Foxchase Apartments

Exercise extreme caution when considering properties listed by the horrible company “AIR Communities” on rental platforms. While their promotional visuals might appear enticing, prospective tenants should be forewarned of a multitude of hidden fees. Beyond the baseline rent, there are significant charges for amenities such as parking, water, and mail services, which often require an additional subscription. The following are crucial observations derived from reviews by past tenants across multiple platforms. It is imperative that you review these insights meticulously to avoid potential regrettable experiences.

Here is 15 reasons why you SHOULD NOT! consider moving into Foxchase Apartments:

  1. Inadequate Parking: Limited parking spaces leading to vehicle damage and difficulty finding spots.
  2. Unresponsive Management: Management is hard to reach and often unresponsive to complaints and maintenance requests.
  3. Security Issues: Poor security measures with unauthorized entries and a lack of action towards reported safety concerns.
  4. Maintenance Negligence: Slow and inadequate maintenance response, impacting the quality of living.
  5. Excessive Fees: Unexpected and high move-out charges, including cleaning and painting fees, regardless of apartment condition.
  6. Pest Infestations: Persistent problems with pests like mice and insects, inadequately addressed by pest control.
  7. Rental History Impact: Negative impact on tenants’ rental history due to association with the building’s issues.
  8. Violated Privacy: Reports of staff entering apartments without proper notification or leaving doors unlocked.
  9. Lack of Transparency: Deceptive leasing practices and hidden costs that are not communicated upfront.
  10. Compromised Living Conditions: Complaints about general uncleanliness and apartments in disrepair.
  11. Unjustified Rental Practices: The rental company’s failure to consider individual tenant records fairly.
  12. Unprofessional Staff Conduct: Staff behavior that is often described as rude and dismissive toward tenant concerns.
  13. Community Disregard: Perceived lack of concern for the community’s well-being and the personal circumstances of tenants.
  14. Inconsistent Policy Enforcement: Selective rule enforcement and unclear policy guidelines causing confusion and perceived unfairness.
  15. Financial Penalties: High costs associated with parking violations and other infractions that appear unfairly targeted.

Leasing staff is unhelpful. Called more than a dozen times to request information about our application without ever hearing back. The person who helped us was Trevor Jasmine and every time we tried to get a hold of him via email or telephone, he never answered. We had to drive on multiple occasions to try to speak to him but provided short useless answers and told us to follow up with him via email or telephone but never responded. To this day our application status is unknown, they took the application fees and deposit without services rendered so the money is missing. We tried to speak to upper management, Stefanie Hall or Jessica Morrone, but never returned our called. We got information that they were supposed to give us a call within 24 business hours and that never happened. AIMCO should really teach their employees about customer service and the importance of following up. Furthermore, we felt discriminated because we saw the staff helping others without a hip-cup and yet we have been trying to get help but was never provided any. Susan - That is incorrect. Please check your records again and it will showed the FoxChase Apartments did not reimburse my money. I have tried to contact the office but no one ever answers or returns my calls. I have been battling to get this money back and no one seems to want to help. Terrible customer service.

Fees, endless fees. Also paying for parking is a joke since finding a spot late at night can be impossible due to all the cars without parking stickers that park on site, look elsewhere for an apartment if you have a car. Don't forget about the endless fees to a group of con artists know as conservice, con is even in the name! Edit dropping a star due to issues with the front doors of the apartment buildings. The front door of every foxchase apartment building is secured very poorly by a mag lock which can easily be forced open with a swift yank of the front door no key needed. This method of "opening" the front door of the building was used so much by maintenance and others it got to the point the door of my building would no longer close since it had become so heavily damaged. I put in multiple maintenance requests to have the front door fixed with some being marked complete even no work was ever done. If you're a person who values security look to rent elsewhere because foxchase management doesn't care if you live in a building that can be accessed by anyone who just pulls on the front door.

The apartments are over priced. No matter how clean you are, you will get mice and bugs. I put in a maintenance request about the mice and the only thing they did was put sticky traps down. They didn't work to find where the mouse came from and they didn't reach back out to see if the problem had been solved. The parking spots are tight and small. They are ideal for motorcycles but not for cars or trucks. Expect your car to get swiped or dinged from someone trying to fit in the spots. Also, if you come home after 10 on the weeknight, good luck finding a spot to park because both the lot and street parking gets full early. The only thing good about this complex is the maintenance staff. They are nice and are quick to complete the order. The location is what kept me there. For the price you pay you would expect there to be a lot of amenities but there aren't many at all except for the gym and the pool. The gym is as basic as a hotel. The apartments aren't all that nice either.

This is my first time leaving reviews and it's because I want people to know NOT TO LIVE HERE. Lots of miscommunication happened during my experience with FoxChase. I submitted my application in mid September but did not receive a leasing agreement until the last day of October. My primary leasing agent was on leave without having his out of office message on which made me constantly worry about the application process. The whole process was really slow which made me ended up forfeited my $500 deposit. Imagine living here and having a problem with your apartment, the lack of communication within the community will be a problem. DO NOT LIVE HERE unless you are fine with a leasing office that doesn't respond to your emails for weeks and when you actually call their office they told you they are understaffed and that they don't normally send confirmation emails and leave you hanging and make you wonder what is going on. The leasing office also bait you on their "special" deal when in fact ended up not being applied after I submitted my application. In total, I put $550 ($500 deposit and $50 application fee) down in the drain, wasted time on numerous phone calls and my energy on 10+ emails in addition to the bad experience I encountered. Please consider spending a bit extra money to find a place that actually will take every future residence seriously because it will be worth it in the long run.

I have never cared about writing reviews but after living in this place I had to write one to help people avoid this place. My car got towed last night after living there for 9 months. I parked at the same spot every day but they towed my car last night just because! They will charge you money for everything. I'm living by myself and a dog my water and electric bills are $60 and up! I asked the admin they said I have to pay for people a whole building which is not fair for some one who work all day and come home to sleep like me. Oh yeah the do have a ton of people who live there for free for a lot of issues. Do you want to pay for those people? They don't work and have a big family. The entrance doors to the building are always broken . Do yourself a favor and avoid this headache. Office staff is not helpful at all they could care less to be honest. For the amount you will pay you can do a lot better elsewhere. Before you sign the lease they will treat you wonderful after you move in you won't hear nothing from them. I have called and let the messages every time when I need help. No one ever call me back ! Staffs are rude! I don't know how those people are working as a costume service if the have bad attitude and lazy like that. Again do not live here! Worst place I ever live in my life. Only thing good is location!

I moved in with my husband since he is renting here. Things were good at first. The longer I've lived here the worse it became. I don't mind a charming older apt. I do mind management not thinking through some of the decisions though. Particularly the noise level. First of all, it's nice that they are upgrading apts to make them more modern, yet when the apt above us was being renovated we received NO notice and there was extremely loud noises during the construction process. At that time I had a new born baby and was home with her during all of this. It took a week to complete and I had to take my newborn baby in my car for her to sleep peacefully. If I had notice beforehand I could have made arrangements for my newborn and I. I'm sure the upgrade was very nice, BUT the new washer and dryer they installed in the apt above us must be ancient and/or cheap because it makes loud noises especially during the last drain and spin cycle. Ours in our apt is really loud too, but what makes it worse above us is that it vibrates and sounds like a loud motor every time the people above us do laundry. I'm very surprised that management would choose such cheap (also very small) washers that make such loud noise especially for a building that is older and harder to barrier noise. We never heard any noise before the renovation. Washer and dryers today are much quieter so I'm not sure which ones management chose to elect but they definitely went the cheap route without thinking through the noise level. We've brought this up to management and although they said they'd check it out, they've opted to do nothing about it and asked if we wanted the people to do laundry only during the day. It's not the tenants fault at all and they are entitled to do laundry however often and whenever they choose. It is the apt management decisions and the fact that they wouldn't put customers service first is a shame. I asked if they could install quieter washers upstairs and even in our apt and nothing was done. It seems like an easy fix and I know there has been similar complaints. For the price we pay I expect a lot more.

Affordable community to live in, and the maintenance people are quick and handy once they get your order. There are only two problems: bugs coming from the walls as it's an old building, I had to tape the whole floor between the walls to prevent it from coming in, and noisy upstairs neighbors screaming at their children. Update: I changed my review from 3 to 1, the bugs problem was ongoing even after pest control, and I had to bring a cleaning company to steam the apartment, and still no hope. They took my deposit and charged me an extra 27$ for a punch of services. The funniest thing was that they charged me for repainting the apartment after moving out, which I made sure to cover all holes and clean all regular spots, and I even sent them a video of it. Do yourself a favor, and don't live here. It's cheaper for a reason.

Don't Move here! Scroll to the left! The leasing office and management are the worst I've ever seen. I've been a resident for almost 5 years paid my rent on time normally the 1st of the month and requested to move early due to personal reasons. Not only did they say I'd have to pay a hefty $6258 but will take back the $300 renewal of the lease that was given to me. They're overpriced for the value and I've complained several times since I lived here. The maintenance staff are wonderful but the managers treat people terribly and their tenants. Do not move here! Find a newer nicer place to live. I regret my move here and want to warn people don't waste your time. After 5 years of being a loyal tenant they still have no respect or sensitivity for others.

Everything breaks. The kitchen is outdated and the counters/cabinets are cracked and old. The yard is not taken care of and mushrooms are growing all over the place. Trash is constantly littering the grass everywhere. Cockroaches! If you don't call and complain, they won't come take care of them. The shower tiles are literally caving in. The only plus is that the maintenance staff is great. Otherwise, it is over priced for the quality and I cannot wait to move.

The apartment is unbearable. The doors and woods broke within couple months of moving in. The public parking is always packed. And they charge for everything. Make sure you read the contract carefully, no like you can stop them from charging you for whatever reason they come up though. Be aware of the hidden fees. Or stay away if you can.

TERRIBLE living here!!! Parking after 8:00pm is basically impossible although you have to pay $30 a month, or you run the risk of your car getting towed. The parking spots are so small be prepared for scratches from other people trying to squeeze into spots way too small for their car. They've increased the amount for a reserved spot to $70 that is almost a mile away from my building. Like the other reviews mention there are mouses. I lived on the top floor and had the exterminators (that they mention in their replies) come in and nothing changed. Management sucks and takes no accountability to the many issues here. They also are forcing tenets to pay $60 a month for wifi now with barely any notice.

Don't know where to start. Admin/leasing office is just a mess. You walk in and sit there for an hr or so before someone finally decides to help. Don't even bother calling because no one will answer the phone. ( you will waste your time). Right now they don't have walk ins, is by appointment only. Impossible to get an appointment when they don't respond to the phone. I have literally been sitting on the waiting area and calling the office and no one responded lol. Currently trying to solve a problem i have and it has been no response for a month . I have send numerous emails since July 1st to try to solve the problem before the new bill comes out, guess what? Well the new bill is coming out in a few days and i haven't got an answer nor appointment for the last month. This is a pet friendly complex but i've been told to keep my dog from barking. They charge a pest fee but there's insects everywhere. I don't know why the fee. Very happy with the maintenance department, The only good thing about foxchase. Amazing maintenance team, very professional and attentive. If you submit a request most times is fixed by the next day. Very happy with their response.

Do NOT sign a lease here. From Day 1 when I moved in there were issues - the unit wasn't move in ready, I had no working water in the bathroom for the first day, there was construction dust everywhere and the walls still had tacky wet paint. Once you've signed the lease management could care less about you. If you have any sort of issue, unless you go to the leasing office in person, nothing will get done. And if you work late and need to talk to someone - you'll just have to leave work early. I have no idea how the leasing office is too busy to answer their phones as there's at least two people in the office not actually doing anything when I've gone in. The door to my building never locks. I've given up trying to get maintenance to fix it. Contractors came into my apartment without notice, left the unit UNLOCKED, damaged my property, and it took me phoning, emailing, and going in person multiple times to get the situation even mildly taken care of. They gave a few days notice that pest controls was treating the building and I was REQUIRED to remove everything from all cabinets, the bottoms of the closets, to remove all foodstuffs and cover them with a tarp, and not to enter the unit within a certain time frame. I couldn't get anyone to tell me what they were using, or to provide an SDS sheet for the chemicals they were obviously going to be using, if I needed to be concerned about upholstery or linens absorbing the stuff, or about the fact that I would have 1 day to do it because I was going to be out of town right before hand. And even after that? Still have bugs. The toilet constantly runs, and I've had maintenance out multiple times for it, still not fixed. The vents are constantly blowing debris out. They "upgraded" the apartment with smart feature such as a touchpad lock for the unit doors - which is loud and obnoxious (I now constantly hear the sound of my neighbors kocking and unlocking their door digitally) and pointless as you still technically need a key to enter the building (on the rare occasion it actually locks) and a thermostat requires internet access. The lease might seem like a good deal, until you factor in the other fees. The water bill isn't actually off a meter. They've metered the hot water heater and not the units themselves and are "guessing" how much water you use by multiplying how much hot water is used by a random magical number. I've lived in a larger house with more people and paid less for water. Parking, unless you pay $40 a month for a reserved spot, is almost impossible. I've also been harassed by people while walking during daylight to my unit - I can't wait to leave this place. Stay far away. Don't rent here. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Moving into Foxchase was a nice and easy process with very helpful people. With that being said, once I was moved in - I was no longer a priority to the management. It is nearly impossible to ever hear back from any of the offices whether you email, call, or leave a voicemail. The parking situation is completely bizarre and they charge you to park when there is never any spaces available. THey have quite the bug problem, which they never responded back to me to help get rid of. There's been multiple times when I have been able to get through to the leasing office and have received quite the attitude on the phone regarding why I was calling or if I was contacting the right department. What it really boils down to is no one seems to know what they're doing or how to keep their residents happy throughout their entire experience with Foxchase Apartments.

Do not rent here. If it seems to good to be true, it's because it is. The rent is so cheap because the roaches are paying the other half! I have never had roaches and I've only lived here 1 month. In my first two weeks, I was watching tv and a roach just crawled across the wall. Disgusting. That was the first of many encounters. In addition, I've had to contact maintenance 3 times in under a month for multiple reasons. On my move in day, none of my files or keys were ready. It was as if I wasn't even scheduled to move. I didn't get my mailbox key until recently (after I had to go to the leasing office and request one). Never had this many issues in my life. I regret signing here!

Their 1 bed appartements are too small yet they come with hefty monthly utility bills, so beside paying rent and your own gas/electricity accounts, you will have to pay a conservice utility bill that adds automatically to your rent, and the thing fluctuates ,some charges don't even make any sense, like why whould my sewer bill alone averages 55$ on a tiny appartement. Big problem with roaches, insects and mold. Also , when we moved out after living there for 2 years, the management brought some vendor and allowed total charges of 1262$ in alleged damages and other stuff, including two coats of paints , cabins and marbel resurfacing, basically they charged us for a unit restoration when its their job to prep it for next tenant, manager refused to considerate these unfair charges and stated that he "feels" they are accurate, this is merely wrong because paint falls under normal wear tear which again they refused to acknowledge, we feel scammed and betrayed, very disappointed with foxchase and would never recommend them.

Please do not rent there! You get contacted by Melody and Randy both of them are a JOKE! Cons ** No parking at night ** Old buildings always something wrong ** Service requested wait for like 2 months to be taken care ** Service manager doesnt do anything to fix it. ** Your packages will get stolen ** Tenis court? Well is a dog poop area ** Customer service, wait for the call back maybe couple of months ** Hidden charges You will be very tired of living there after the first month!! There many places that you can live for the same amount of rent or even less and with better quality and faster response!!!

I had a friend recently move from here and it reminded me of my experience. I lived here from 2012 to 2015 and there was always some mess going on with our building. The A.C. unit broke down 2 different times and the administrative office seems to take their sweet time with notifying maintenance. Me and my roommate also kept having an issue with mice when we hardly ever used the kitchen let alone left food in there. After hiring an exterminator it was revealed there were multiple holes within the walls they were coming through go figure right? The rent was the most irritating part because it kept going up. When we first moved in we were paying $1,426 monthly for rent alone. The following year they tried to bump it up to $1,785 a month for the same type of lease we had before! We talked them down to $1,602 but for our final lease our rent was raised to $1,860. They weren't willing to negotiate with us that time but luckily that was the last time because I found a new apartment and my roommate was going to separate from the military anyway. The best part was when we had to do an early termination with about 2 weeks left on the lease. They were going to charge us both individually 3,000 and something a piece which came out to $6,300 total! Thing is since my roommate was separating the military his orders would validate us from having to pay a fee but the administrative office would NEVER pick up the phone or respond to voicemail or emails. I took this as them not trying to honor the military clause which is FEDERAL LAW by the way and made an appointment with the legal office at the base I worked at. Fortunately for Foxchase they contacted my roommate the day I was going to take action. They said they were "validating" his separation orders. After that 3 weeks of trying to contact them they finally removed the outrageous fee and we paid a small fee for cleaning the apartment but man I always recommend people to look elsewhere to this day. Maybe the management has changed by now and I seriously hope it has because the actual apartments aren't bad at all the management just ruined everything for us.

Been trying to talk to staff about leasing an apartment. 1st the phone lines don't work correct but on top of that they had someone text me back who was quite rude and uninformed of the basics such as pricing. If you look online there 2 bedrooms are listed as between about 1700 and 8000, so I called to get the correct information and yet they couldn't tell me what they were going for. Never mind I'll find a more professional company

Horrible experience - mice and bugs - little to no assistance with either issue. Neighbors in building had double-digit numbers of people living in 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. Drunk in building slamming on doors in the middle of night begging for money. Same drunk passed out by mailboxes. All reported, nothing done about it. There was a constant smell to the ridiculously small apartment that we couldn't figure out....while cleaning out the apartment, I pulled out the fridge and found piles of mouse droppings basically "cooking" on the fridge engine....would explain why we were sick more often that year.... To top it all off, when I went to apply for an auto loan, I find out that I have a hit on my credit from this place....when I call to clear it up, I get sent from one office to another, until I end up having to leave a voice mail. Absolutely ridiculous customer service!!!!

The worst thing as a female renter is having to ask the leasing center, multiple times, WHAT WILL BE DONE ABOUT BUILDING SECURITY?! Oh I guess I should be thankful we're getting fancy door locks now, but damn can you train your staff to have better answers than, "well we can't stop people from forcing the door open". EXCUSE ME?! Your people are a joke, your company is a joke, your business acumen and service skills are a joke, and if I had the chance to do it all over again I would've moved out and not renewed my lease. I waited too long to find another place- but I'm looking now and with luck and planning I'll be out of here SOON. These people have no clue how to run a complex. And these kids they hire couldn't tell a fart from febreze. They have fancy Surface tablets, with big screens and couches in the leasing center, while the apartments are INFESTED, wood is rotting all over, and the front doors can be pried open VERY EASILY- not to mention the poor state of the grounds. I will say that I saw people cleaning up in the mornings, which I am grateful for. They have more customer service skills than the people in the office. Like damn, if I'm visibly upset ONE WOULD THINK to have more positive answers...if the cleanup crew is nicer and more hospitable than your leasing crew, you gotta problem, bub. Don't be fooled by the cheap rent, and seemingly nice apartments, guys...it's not worth it. *sigh* I just don't know why it's so hard to find good apartments in this area. Oh well. EDIT: reading reviews, I see A LOT of waaaaay too positive reviews by ppl who've only made 1 or 2 reviews on google...looks suspiciously like bots or paid reviews smh

THIEVES-I would give AIMCO 0 stars if I could. They basically played with my time and money. The managers gave me false information about my possibilities to transfer to the property just to charge me $600 dollars! They promised to give me my money back, and they did! But later, i get a call from collection trying to contact me because I didn't pay the application. oh and try to call fox chase... it is impossible to reach them. They are all rude. I will seek justice.

Don't get sucked in by the low rent you are quoted. They nickel and dime you another 10% or more. You'll pay for your own pest control, like ants coming out of the wall which you didn't cause. You'll have to get insurance for the landlord (not normal renter's insurance). The service companies they use will charge you even more. The billing company they use charges you to send you a bill. Your utilities are outrageous and possibly fraudulent. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Paying for your own pest control is all your need to know about this place to ward you off. Check out ants coming from the basement. YOU'LL have to PAY for their removal.

UPDATE: Foxchase is a scam. DO NOT MOVE HERE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Yesterday I moved out of Foxchase. For two months, I asked the property manager to please assist me in getting an estimate to have my 400 sq. ft. apartment repainted because if it was too high, I would like to do it myself. In short, I was repeatedly passed around or ignored until a week before move-out when I called to schedule the paint estimate and the move-out inspection and was encouraged to simply do both at the same time - despite my interest in weighing my options vs. repainting myself. I figured it couldn't be THAT high if they were so nonchalant about giving the estimate on the day of move-out. Otherwise, what would be the point of an estimate? They know how big their units are. When the maintenance person showed up, he had NO IDEA I had painted or that I had been trying to get in touch with him. He literally acted surprised and concerned. He called ANOTHER person to come do the paint estimate, which they informed me would cost $750 ON TOP OF a $270 fee *just to repaint*. The $750 is simply to "change the color". I was flabbergasted to say the least. He offered me the next *5 hours* to purchase paint (which I was told would be given to me when I moved in) and repaint the entire apartment - which is physcially impossible to do in such a timeframe, but could have been done had I known prior. The property manager will use veiled threats "I would hate to have to charge you again if you didn't paint/clean to our satisfaction..." to convince you to let them charge you almost an entire month's rent just to move out. I had looked high and low through my lease and move-out information and never once found information about these charges. But, somehow, this wasn't even the worst part. When I moved in 2 years ago, I signed a lease under the impression I would be moving into a top-floor unit - my only requirement. I even set up all of my utilities to this address. ONE WEEK before move in, Pragna takes me on a tour of my unit and it's 100% not the address I was given. It was a second-floor unit under a family of FIVE who happened to be the loudest children I have ever encountered. I hope whoever moves into my old unit enjoys stomping and screaming at 10pm every night. Pragna's answer? "Oh, I didn't tell you? My bad." That is unacceptable in itself. The real kicker? The SAME thing happened to two of my neighbors who moved in around the same time. I'm certain we were simply all promised the same unit so that we'd be cornered into moving in at the last minute, once they changed our addresses. You will have NOWHERE to park after 7:30pm unless you pay $65 for a reserved (uncovered) parking space - which is outrageous. The people around this area are sketchy af - we recently had a masked burglar looking into people's windows at night multiple times. It is simply not worth anything at all. There are apartments elsewhere that have free parking that's actually available, leasing agents who won't lie and decieve you so they can get a tenant, management that won't sneakily charge you more than you expected at move-out, and maintenance that actually maintains the grounds and buildings. The bushes outside my building were overgrown for the last 2 months - you had to go *through* the branches to get to the door. The cement is sloped in a way that rain pools - which in the winter turns to solid ice. The grounds are disgusting, the dumpsters are constantly overflowing two days after pickup, and the building are falling apart. The day I moved out, I watched roof shingles slide off the roof into the grass in front of me. The laundry machines cost $5 every time you want to do a load of laundry. The pools are constantly down for maintenance. Maintenance won't fix certain issues - like my screen door that wouldn't stay on the track, or my faucet that leaked when you turned it, or the dishwasher that smelled like rotten seafood. They'll look you in the eye and tell you there isn't a problem.

The apartment itself isn't that bad and the location is ok, its the management that makes a person not want to stay. The person who handled my paperwork to convince me to lease here told me that the average utilities for a 1 bed with 1 occupant would be about $50. I'm not holding anyone to this but when you ask what utilities average you expect something close. The minimum water bill is $50 which is billed through the apartment management (you pay for the billing service) so add in electric and gas and bills are much higher. They require online documents to include the initial lease. When this was finalized the website to do this was down. I was also not in Virginia. The person who I was working with was practically in a panic telling me that I would not get the rent amount I agreed to if I didn't sign the lease that day. If I had backed out it would have put me in a bind for a place to live. I had to give a code to him to allow him to sign it for me. He supposedly read everything but that was a lie. When I moved in I had to give my apartment key to maintenance so they could fix the blinds that were promised to be fixed prior to move in, no one seemed to think this was odd or cared that I gave up a key I signed for. About a month in water started leaking into the bedroom. I placed a service order that took three days to be filled. The person who went to fix it called me three times at work to "discuss" the leak. He spent most of the time telling me that I didn't close the shower curtain or had the water angled wrong, as if I didn't know how to shower without making a mess. I repeatedly pointed out that there was no water on the floor in the bathroom just in the bedroom. When I got back that day a letter reflecting the service call was left which stated something in the shower had been replaced. I guess he just couldn't justify not spending the money to replace a part that was leaking without risking me taking further action to resolve the issue. I received a letter of non-payment on my door a couple months later that was dated for the pervious year with someone else name. I had to make multiple phone calls to get that straightened out which ended with someone saying "oops that happens" and I should disregard. I had complained about noise at 2am from my downstairs neighbor but all they would do was send an email to everyone in the building. However, we got multiple letters telling us we would pay a $500 fee for smoking near the building or on our balcony, a second offense is $1000. But the worth experience was trying to move out of this place. I am a military veteran and dependent. We have orders, which too forever to get, but finding someone to work with me to end my lease early was a nightmare. I tried to explain my situation but was told sorry can't help and I don't work at that location, when asked who else I could contact. Beside the stress of having to continue to pay rent and prepare to move overseas when I finally got the orders they gave me a move out date after my lease ended! After many phone calls and emails (I wanted everything documented) they finally agreed to let me break the lease three weeks early. Upon move out I was charged $95. Yes the paperwork says you have the option to select that they clean the apartment for you and that it only costs $90, but they don't care. They will charge you regardless because you have to sign a document when you hand over your keys agreeing to it and when you electronically sign the documents to move out you don't have a choice but to opt for them to charge you. This place is a joke. Every time I was in contact with maintenance they were condescending and the management ignore you unless you continuously make a fuss. I you chose to live here make sure you read every line of everything you agree to. The location is good if you don't mind riding the bus for at least 30 minutes to get to the metro. Overall its pretty quiet and wood floors are better than carpet. The apartments look nothing like the models they show to get you to sign a lease.

Poor-quality apartments managed by a staggeringly callous and inept corporation. The apartments are not well made and are poorly maintained. Expect lots of bugs. If you're in one of the two-level units, you can expect any air you condition to leak out, resulting in wild temperature variations between floors. You can also count on the main office to utterly fail at communicating maintenance, schedule changes and the like while making their rental terms as obtuse as possible. All this after you're required to sign a "good neighbor" agreement. Don't rent here if you can avoid it. If you're here, get out as soon as you can.

I'm a current resident. My first unit did not have a washer and dryer so I used the communal machines downstairs. The washer constantly flooded the room and the dryer would almost never connected to the app. My 2nd unit, while bigger, came with a constant barrage of pest control issues. Specifically, I battled roaches from other apartments, a lizard and now I'm battling a mouse. The pest control company is completely incompetent and they send the same guys every time. I'm sick of this place and I cannot wait for my lease to end!!

I was looking for a cheap place to live in Alexandria and stumbled across Foxchase online. While I noted the countless bad reviews (regarding crime/rodents/smell/incompetence/etc), I brushed them aside, as I consider myself to be very low maintenance/with low expectations. Unfortunately, I made the wrong choice. I have never experienced so many hassles, and never been so angry at an apartment place. Background: Two months prior to my lease date, I contacted the office, booked an appointment, received an in-person tour, read the full leasing contract word-for-word, wrote a (roughly?) $1200 check for the down-payment/first month's prorated rent. I then signed the contract, the money cleared, and I entered into a legally binding agreement, in which I exchanged money for the promise of an apartment with the ADDRESS for my promised apartment ON THE CONTRACT. My assigned "leasing agent" was brand new and very incompetent, but I brushed that aside thinking, "hey, just because Cassie is new and can't spell anything, doesn't mean the whole organization is flawed....". Over the next two months, I stayed in contact with the office people, checking in, asking questions, etc. I set up comcast, gas, and electricity FOR THE ADDRESS ON MY CONTRACT. This address was also stated throughout several pieces of email correspondence that I had with the leasing agent. Cable man calls TWO DAYS BEFORE MY LEASE STARTS, and says, "Are you sure this is the right address?" I call up Foxchase and they say "oh gosh, we actually changed the apartment/address, you didn't get our call YESTERDAY?" (aka 3 days before the lease starts). I said, "No, you never called. It is two days before the lease starts. I have spent a ton of time finding a mover, setting up electricity, gas, and comcast to THAT ADDRESS IN THE CONTRACT". They said, "Oh, yeah, we have to move you". No apologies. No admission of guilt. Nothing. It was the last straw. I backed out. I had to race to find anything else - and sleep on a friend's couch for a week in the meantime. I told Foxchase to give me my money back immediately (since they broke the contract). They did, after a month of additional miserable phone calls and emails. I got lucky, because everyone I have spoken to regarding this apartment has reiterated how incompetent, unreliable, manipulative these people are. STAY AWAY. Don't brush this review aside like I did. I regret it.

It is terrible place to live and have to move from the first place because it was a lot of insects mostly they have a mold. They also have a lot of hidden fees and they charge you for everything also the place is very small. They charged me for efficiency/studio as a one bed room. When I moved out they did not give me my whole refund of deposit. I see they charged me for cleaning 130 and the worse part they double charged me for the utilities. It is the worse place and if you have a choice, do not everything moving in there at all. It sucks.

Hello ! This is Berk Sayal ! I had an appointment today. I have a complaint for your company and your workers. When I come to the lease office, the man was very rude who is sitting front of the computer at the table. He asked directly" when do you move to apartment " it was a bad question! Do you treat to your every guest is like this ? is this your service quality? I've been talking with Jen for 2 weeks yours regional manager. I told her first, I would like to look at the apartment and then I will decide when I can move to apartment. Also, when I arrived to number 103 building, there was a code system on the 204 door. Why Didn't they say the code to me? I waited 30 minutes at front of the door. I didn't surprise. It was a bad greeting the costumer. it was bad guidance the costumer. I never come over there. I will never recommend any to my friends. I am writing this email. because you have to know this Dear Manager and talk them. !

Foxchase is cheap for a reason. I recently discover the reason why. Living on the ground floor brings its issues. One of those issues being, the sewage backup into my unit I recently experienced. Maintenance and management were both notified and advised me that they had a professional cleaning company on the way to handle all cleanup and sanitization of both the unit and my own personal property. Company arrived but did not clean much of anything. They left even after I advised them of the sewage still on the floor. Maintenance and management were both notified but being after hours no one was available. So taking it upon myself to sanitize the unit I did so. I contacted management about the issue the following day during business hours. no answer and the call went to voicemail, message left. The next day tried again. Still no answer and voicemail was left. That same day I received a survey for there service. I handled the survey the same way they handled the sewage issue. Poor grades were issued. The next day I finally received a response from management 3 days after the incident, who issued an apology and said that they would contact the property owner (Aimco) due to the situation and see if they could assist me in the damages since it was not of my doing. 2 days later an email was sent "sorry again but damage is on you and your renters insurance." The next day I received a call from the head of maintenance who apologized and said I should not of had to handle that problem at all. He said he will do better and apologized. Now a week later from the date of incident. I contacted management by phone and email again to see if they will assist me in compensation for the problem that was their responsibility and failed at doing so and I handled. Still no response. At this point I am beyond angry, the fact that no one in management seems to care and there almost lack of response has me curious of other health issues such as mine that have taken place. At this time I have contacted the BBB and filed a claim for Aimco's inability to provide a clean living space not of my own doing. I have also contacted Virginia's board of health and human services who will be conducting a health inspection. To investigate if any other tenants may have been exposed to sewage in there units and if proper measures were taken in clean up by maintenance and follow up by management. If this is what you can afford, be warned. There are other issues that will become apparent within the first week or 2 of moving in. Good luck if you decide to live here but if possible don't live on the ground floor unless you like sewage in your home.

Great maintenance services, very friendly and professional. The apartment that I got was clean and comes with brand-new appliances. Management could do a better job with trash management, pest control, and exterior design with more trees and frequent grass cutting. Updating the review because of a very rude leasing office agent - Mahlet. Mahlet did not provide me with full disclosure of the fees and move-out date procedures of Foxchase. Additionally, she mentioned about fees that I can save by completing the application on the same day with showing after the showing (would have been much nicer to know of that deal before schedule showing). After the feedback through phone which was 3 months ago, Mahlet remembered my face and has been so rude everytime I came to the office to have direct communication (both my boyfriend and I noticed her difference in communicating with me). She never looked at me once in the face when I tell her about my issues, either typing on her phone or looking at her laptop. She even mentioned that she was not required to look directly in my face (how rude). The other staff, overheard the conversation, did nothing and acted as if everything was fine. Do not live here if you don't want to deal with stressful leasing staff.

LOOK ELSEWHERE!! You get what you pay for, people. Rent is cheap(er) than in the surrounding area for a reason. I read the reviews and didn't listen because it was cheap and I definitely paid the price of my sanity living here!! There is a reason there are so many vacant units. Rent increases once your initial lease is up and is over 10%!! Once you've signed the lease, expect the property managers to go silent. It's impossible to get ahold of them by phone. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbors are doing 24/7. (Yelling, fighting, crying, you name it, you can hear it.) If you have a complaint, they tell you to go to the website and file a complaint which then goes to a dead end and nothing gets done. Their monthly conservice charges (water, sewer, trash, other fee, pest control) are the highest I've seen anywhere ($150-180 a month). They will charge you both to clean $150 and repaint the walls $350+ when you move out deducted from your deposit. The only reason this place even deserves 1 star at all is because of their maintenance team, who are amazing. They are probably all underpaid considering how cheap this place is, but they do have a responsive maintenance crew!

Let me share about Foxchase as a current resident. This place started out great, NOT because of anything they did but because of the location and pricing. Summer 2017 until now has been dismal. Yes there are constant pest issues. My roommate and I dealt with bedbugs from August 2017 until March 2017. The neighbors who brought them in had been dealing with them from February 2017 before they spread to my apartment. Foxchase denied any knowledge of anyone else dealing with it. During the early part of the treatment services they tried to charge us for not preparing correctly though no notes were made about how to prepare those areas. Oh and they got all the dates wrong. They did it again in May 2018 when they talked about treatment for roaches (same neighbor brought those in too) and put the treatment services were gonna be done on May 28 which was MEMORIAL DAY! We prepped, they didn't show. WE HAD TO CALL to confirm if they were ever coming and then after we called they dropped letters saying to prep again. And then that day they took forever to treat which is a process that requires you to be out of the apartment 4 hours. If you talk with any staff they're condescending, patronizing and sound genuinely disinterested in your issues. If you have free time to be a "pest" to staff go for it. Otherwise I'd avoid it.

This property is very conveniently located and a quite area that is the extent of the good of this property. The office has made my time here an extremely bad experience. During the lease signing with the office I worked with Silvia who made promises that she could not keep. I was told by Silvia that I would be receiving $200 off my first months rent. When I went to pay my first months rent I noticed that the $200 was not taking off the rent. I called Silvia who stated that she would take care of everything and not to worry about it. I waited a little bit to see if there was change there never was and plus they charged me $100 late fee while I was waiting on a call from Silvia. I called Silvia again to see what was going on. When I called this time she said that she was no longer working for FoxChase and was now at a different property under the same management. I asked if she could still fulfill the promise that she made. She told me to talk to management and said that they already were made aware of the issue. I talked to the manger Damon who was not helpful at all. Damon told me that he was not aware of any issue and even if he was there was nothing that he could do about it...great management... Great manager.... They are friendly and nice until you signed the lease..

Hello Everyone, I am writing this review because Foxchase was my very first apartment on my own and I am disgusted at the treatment and unnecessary charges after my move out. When I first moved I was paying for reserved spot but they did not have that spot ready so I was given a reserved spot across the street. They take a very long time in repairing things, I've had my shower handle replaced multiple times and the last time he replaced it he put it on opposite so hot was cold and cold was hot. I did not bother to call again because I knew it would take forever and I knew I would not be renewing my lease. They don't have a doorbell so you have to walk downstairs to open the door for guests. They have a terrible rodent problem which I called about but they did nothing to address the issue. They are roaches in the front of the building and inside. During my year stay I saw one mouse and come to find out there was a huge hole behind my stove and a hole behind my washing machine. The only good thing I can say about this place was my neighbors, my packages were never touched and everyone pretty much minds their business. When you first walk into my apartment it is pitch black because they have no lighting at the entrance which was a huge inconvenience. I had to walk with my phone flash light on every time I came home from work. I wish I had seen these reviews prior to moving in or else I would have avoided this bad experience. They contacted me several times to not move out then charge me $140 for uneven tiles in the bathroom, and $145 in bathtub surface damage for discoloration. Let it be noted that I also had to pay a cleaning fee of $95 but yet was charge for discoloration in the bathroom. I took care of the apartment as if it was my own but if you are moving into this complex note EVERYTHING! Any crack, nook and cranny because if you don't they will charge you in the end. It was my first time on my own and definitely a learning experience. I do not recommend this complex. They have a high turn over rate, for since I've been there 13 months I've seen countless tenants move in and out. Do your homework and learn from my mistakes, do not move here.

Avoid at all costs! They engage in not only shady practices, but downright illegal. I brought in a restraining order against my ex-roommate to get his code changes so he couldn't access the apartment. They didn't want to because "that would be like evicting him". I don't know what their lawyers told them, but after realizing they would be liable for anything that happened, they finally deleted him. Since I still had time on the lease, I had to do a transfer to a smaller apartment or pay a ridiculous amount to break the lease. Unfortunately, that means I had to sign another lease .Then they told me (AFTER I signed the transfer paperwork) that I would need to pay for a professional cleaner. Since this is not in my lease, I sent it to my lawyer because no 2 people here will tell you the same thing. The woman working with me and the "manager" ( I believe her name is Stephanie) became damn near hostile when I mentioned my lawyer was looking into this. Prior to this, I have had strange men enter my apartment. Turned out they worked for maintenance, and I asked they call first. Getting ahold of the office is all but impossible. And the office staff is rude and disinterested. The apartments are cheap and property poorly maintained. Do not waste your money here I dont know if they're incompetent or racist, but the leasing people are inadequate, hostile and more than enough reason to leave. The location is nice, but management is beyond awful.

Ridiculous management. When I moved in, the apartment was extremely dirty and with insects. I cleaned and stayed for two years. Everything was written in move in checklist. When moving out, they conveniently misplaced the move in check list and charged me a cleaning fee and paint fee. Charging me for cleaning fee when they receive the apartment in better condition than before.

There is a serious pest control issue that i have been fighting since i moved and and am not happy about it. I was told that I may have to remove all of my stuff just so they can put stronger poison down to help with this issue. Not only is this a hassle but I seriously feel that I should receive a few months of rent fee because of this issue. very upset.

I made an appointment to see the apartments & speak with someone about the pricing & get more information. I drove all the way from Falls Church & even confirmed that morning that I would be getting a tour & speaking to someone about moving in. When I arrived there I was greated by a woman who from the start had such a terrible attitude, I believe her name was Jasmine. I told her I was there for the tour & she even confirmed by name & date/time. She said there was noone available to give me a tour & didn't provide any further information. She said I could reschedule for another day if I wanted to. Again, I confirmed the appointment an hour before arriving & was frustrated that they made me drive all the way to Alexandria just to be told that I had to make yet another appointment to see the apartments. No apology at all nor any respect for people's time in this place. If they wanted me to reschedule I would have had no problem, but instead they made me drive all the way there to speak to an unknowable rude woman who did not help nor provide any information. I will be looking at other apartments instead. Don't waste your time coming to this place.

Worst apartment complex ever. If you're happy there, wait until your move-out date when they start creating and adding nonesense fees and payments. They added approx 500-600$ for damanges, and 130$ for cleaning (the house was clean and no damages were there). Tried to reach out over the phone to simply ask for proof of damage, they told me to email them, and no one replied. After that, they deducted my downpayment of 500$, (also without showing any proof of damange/reason to collect the downpayment. Never seen anything like this. STAY AWAY!!!

Please make sure to do a little research on this apartments before signing a lease, to make my experience shorter I'll tell you what's my issue... I live in the 1st floor, 1st, mices 2nd, centipedes a lot of them 3rd, humidity the smell is so bad, the walls turn out green and last but not least ants everywhere in my kitchen bathroom bedroom living room in my sofa in the floor everyweree you can think of but they don't do anything, now u saying why you still there well my lease is almost over and I am so happy to move out can't wait... my husband and I are waiting for our 1st baby and saw this place our future but 6 months later I was extremely unhappy this wasn't what I wanted for my baby so for personal reasons we had to renew our lease I was sooooo mad but now I'm not making the same mistake we moving out, hopefully people read this reviews before signing to live here, love the location and everything in this place but I'm not a friend of insects.

Everything good about this apartment is overshadowed by the cockroaches. Management has been in multiple times to try to control the issue (at least they've tried), but nothing seems to work. We live with cockroaches. From asking around, it seems that not every single building has a roach infestation, but many do. I recommend not even taking that risk. Being afraid to walk into the kitchen to make dinner or be home alone and encounter a roach does not feel like home. I'm looking forward to the end of the lease.

I applied for an apartment, but was still shopping around for a better one. These apartments are small, no washer/ dryer, have closed living spaces and are frankly way overpriced. Anyway, I was told by the leasing agent that if in 72 hours I did not sign the lease, I would no longer have the apartment and my security deposit would come back to me ($500). This was not the case. A month later, paying my credit card bill I figured I would call and ask when I should expect to see the refund. The regional manager was the least helpful person I've ever dealt with. He did not care what I had to say, offered no help toward the situation and was not empathetic at all. I can't imagine if I lived there and had an issue arise. I wouldn't trust this place with "customer service" like this. I am now out $500 during a pandemic; thanks Foxchase!

Don't buy any promise that may be given to you by this property. I was refereed by a friend to this property and went on the 11th of October near COB as my appointment was given to me. I had a place that I already paid the rent until the end of the month, so I was looking probably two or three days before the month ending just to move my stuff and clean the the apartment I am vacating. I was told by the leasing consultant that they have a promotion if i move in by the 15th that I will get a one month free and $1000 gift card with certain rent, if I want to move in by the 23rd that I will only get one month free and little higher rent, after the 23rd I won't get any promotion and the rent will be even higher. The leasing agent stressed if I don't pay the $50 application fee and $500 withholding fee, that the apartment may vanish overnight as people may reserve it online, and she was very pushy as it is really her job. I have trusted her, after all she seems trust-able and friendly. She then gave a list of what I need to do next and emailed me the instruction as well. This was all on Wednesday COB. The next two days which is Thursday and Friday, I had to spent time to set up the Washington Gas bill, dominion power bill and search for renters insurance on my work breaks. Then I set up the Washington gas bill and dominion power bill to my name believing that they would have been trust worthy and keep their word in tact. I have also tried to set up my renters insurance, but there was phone tagging between my and the insurance agents I was trying to buy the premium from. I was not aware of that I had to have the insurance before the signing the lease. I received a personal phone call from the leasing agent from her cell phone the day I was suppose to move in. There was no follow-up calls between my visit and the actual move in date. The agent told me to make sure I finalized the renters insurance before I walk-in the office and offer if I could not get the insurance that they can provide me with $14.95/month. I told her i have an insurance for $115/year which is about $9. 58/month so I told her I don't need theirs. The agent said to send her the quote before I buy it to make sure it has all they required. I forwarded the insurance quote which she reviewed and told me it is ok to buy it. This was around noon on the day I was suppose to move in. I finalized the insurance and paid for the year and forward the receipt to the agent. She replied all is great and told me to go sign the lease and take the key. while I was walking in to the leasing office, I received an email saying the insurance was starting at midnight which is about 8 hours later from the time of signing the lease, and unless I backdated the insurance or buy one month insurance from them, that I can't sign the lease despite that making me wait for about one hour in the waiting room although I got there on time. The insurance agent calmly explain to her there is not way to start insurance on the same day the premium is paid, and said it will start at EOD midnight at 12:01 AM. The leasing agent then tried to get me buy their renters insurance for one month although she knows my insurance is starting in about 7 hours at this time. Then, I was told to come tomorrow, I went the next day, and I was told I am not qualified to get the $1000 gift card anymore as it expired the day before, and they said the corporate office is not willing to extend the offer for me. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Then I calmly asked if they can't honor their promise, to cancel my application and refund my $550. Then they said you just passed the 72 hour cancellation period and you won't get your money back. Then they cancelled my application stating that "APPLICANT DID NOT WANT TO MOVE IN" and they suggested if I move there with in the next 120 days, I will be able to $500 credit towards my rent. If you are by all means been promised anything from this property, it means nothing as they can just change their mind at any time. YOU SHOULD NOT TRUST 'FOXCHASE APARTMENT ALEXANDRIA"

Do not rent from foxchase! The management is impossible to get a hold of. They don't return emails or phone calls. They emailed only myself and not my roommate saying we have to give 60 days notice to move out. This was 7 days before that 60 day mark. I was busy working and when I made it down to fill out the paperwork (11 days late) they told us there would be a fee but they could not tell us how much. It turned out to be $740. No where on their website or in any email did it outline the late policy, which is they charge you a full day of rent for every day late you are in filling out the paperwork. The leasing office didn't mention that policy other than we will have a fee charged at some point. I spoke with a manager about it and requested it be reduced or removed. It was removed from our bill. Then magically after we moved out and paid our final rent it appeared again. Their response was that the request for a reduction or removal was denied. They say customer service is important to them but that is not true. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

What is the corporate email for Fox Chase apartments ? My gf has been trying to contact them everyday for almost a month about her refund of about $800 that she was supposed to receive weeks ago and now nobody is answering her calls or texts. She spoke with the woman in the office, Jasmine. She told us she made a mistake on her side and that was the delay (this was after two weeks but the refund was only suppose to take 3 business days) but it's been almost a month now and we are starting to believe that my gf has been conned/stolen from by Jasmine because my gf found another apartment. Now going over all the money we sent over, we are confused about why she was just told to send over random amounts with no reason behind it. CONCERNING !!

Started out alright until the bugs and mice set in. Dog park is terrible. Just patches of grass and broken dog jumps. I also don't know how many people are living in my building either. People just bang on the door at all hours of the night trying to get In. To finish this review off, my truck was towed last night because I don't have an inspection sticker. I just got my tags a week ago and was going to get my truck inspected this weekend. Zero warning. I understand why they would tow it if it had been sitting there for weeks with no inspection, but this is a new truck. Give me a warning or some notice and I would have got it done the next day. Just a big money scam. Oh and they finally got someone to mow the place today. Grass was a foot tall in front of my building. Don't live here. I can guarantee you it will be a terrible experience.

This place has MICE! I have requested maintenance to come and handle the problem over 5 times and just put traps down that did nothing. They are really nice people, but when I went to the front office to complain about the problem they were very dismissive of my complaints and didn't seem to care. Even when I went for noise complaint some people told me to call them and not the police then someone else said I should just call the police. I have a couple more months on my lease and I am counting down the days to leave, I can't wait to get out of here.

Me and my husband have been waiting for a parking spot for four months. The leasing office has so much turnover that none of the employees know what they're doing. The building is noticeably old with a terrible paint job. The units have been poorly maintained throughout the years. The laundry facility continues to get smaller and more expensive that I've starting driving to a laundromat. They charged us a late fee of $100 for a water bill that was definitely paid on time. Our toilet liner was broken, water was leaking on the floor. I'm fairly certain there's mold under the floorboards but maintenance WILL NOT look. I was told the contractor would be in touch to set up a visit to replace the flooring... three weeks ago. The few times I've walked to the pool it has been padlocked so we're not getting any use of the amenities. The dog park is small with no shade, and uncut grass. I have absolutely nothing good to say about these buildings or the customer service. I recommend looking elsewhere for a place to live!

Moved in on the 21st of November, 20 days later I've already caught three mice. it's sad having to kill these creatures, but they are very dangerous as they case many diseases. I hear them running around in the walls all night. ...

How is it here? It's eh. The main issue I have with this place is parking. You pay for general lot parking which is understandable but it seems like they assign more parking passes than they have parking spots. If you pay to park in the parking lot then you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. That leads to people parking on corners, perpendicular to the flow of traffic and any other way they can, legal or not, just to park. On top of that the spaces are so tight you can barely get out of your car. My Mercedes has over 13 dings and scratches from car doors and other things hitting it in a reserved spot. My van has paint from other cars on it after they hit it with their door. It's gotten to the point where I'm going to contact a lawyer to see what can be done about the residents and management because I'm not going to kick out thousands of dollars to fix the damage done to my vehicles. Not only that but delivery trucks block both reserved and non reserved parking spots and I've seen the grounds keepers hit car bumpers with weed wackers and lawn mowers. The other issue was mice but after pest control failed to get rid of them I took matters in my own hands and got rid of them in a week.

Dodgy customer service. Could not log in to my account to play rent this month until after they charged a late fee. I called 3 days prior, and the representative said someone would call me in the coming days to help me log in. Called again today and the guy never put in a log that I called with an issue. So the girl had to assume I was lying to her about calling with an issue and I was treated as I liar when trying to explain the situation. So due to aimco/foxchases records keeping negligence I'm stuck with a fee for an account I could not log into and they are treating me as though I am lying about ever calling in the first place. Maintenance is A-, there are problems but the team is quick to respond and resolve issues (except i've been waiting for them to re-glaze the bathtub for about 4 months, they said they would schedule somebody to come in but no luck yet.). I was ready to give this place 4-5 stars, but they treated me very poorly with this exchange I would not recommend giving money to this place especially if you are a young professional with a heavy travel schedule. Thank you aimco/foxchase for treating me like a liar when I was overseas on a business trip and could not resolve this in person. I hope that late fee was worth another poor review. At least this helps add some transparency to your customer service and why you get so many poor reviews.

Why are there SO MANY inspections regarding Section 8 apartment residents? Do regular non section 8 apartment residents receive as many apartment inspections? I would love to hear an answer!

Update: just a heads up, Foxchase are making it mandatory to pay for wi-fi deal with Xfinity for $60 a month - you'll be paying even if you have different service. Now, here's the crazy part - I currently pay to non other but Xfinity $20 a month (available to anyone, it's not a special price or anything - it's their basic plan), yes, you read that right, $20/month. And now I will have to pay triple that, just because Foxchase made a deal with Xfinity. Instead of trying to make a deal with Xfinity for $20/month option for their tenants (again, it exists - I pay exactly that much for Xfinity with the same service of only internet) - they are leaving you no chance to find a more budget version. In other words, Foxchase makes money not only from rent, but also, as an Xfinity dealer. On another note - do not rent their storage units - your things will be covered in thick layer of mold, which covers the floor and it only got worse over the past year; and you will probably develop allergies. Storage floor gets flooded constantly and right now my unit has fluffy growth sized 1x1 ft. I will update the review with more of my experience living here in some time.

they have no respect for their residents. 2 weeks ago the apartment above my unit had a water tank burst and the water started to leak into my unit. I called and told maintance and they said they would send someone over asap. 2 weeks later and the maintenance dude walks into my apartment, no call or knock on the door, while i'm changing. If you're a girl living by yourself don't be fooled by the low monthly rent.

I lived in Fox Chase for a year and the only good day was the day I moved out. The day I moved in the apartment was disgusting, so disgusting I had to go clean it myself, something the apartment complex supposedly does . In the spring time ants were a big problem as they were coming from everywhere, the apartments supposedly spray but I never saw pest control there . Parking is terrible and it was a waste of money to pay monthly when I had to park on the street every night. They do not take care of the grassey areas as I had a dog and had to be very attentive as often times I would find shattered glass in those areas. Also the people that work there would throw their food all into the grass areas instead of a dumpster. When it comes time to move out they will charge you a $90 cleaning fee which I was told I did not have to do as long as it was move in ready. After spending a day cleaning they still charged me the cleaning fee and the place was spotless compared to how it was when I moved in, and this was on top of me going to the leasing office and being told they would credit my account for the $90 which they never did. This was a terrible place to live and I would never recommend this to anyone the staff is not friendly and just want you out of their hair. If you are looking into moving in Alexandria, don't move here there are much better apartments to move to.

I have lived here for a year in one of the renovated units. At first the place seemed nice with all new appliances, but its just covering up the deep issues of these old buildings. I have had multiple issues with pests- from all sorts of bugs and now mice. I have had both maintenance and the contractors come and fill various holes in the apt, but it seems like there are so many holes in the building its impossible to keep the mice out. I have had pest control come multiple times and the problem has still not been resolved. In addition I've called maintenance SEVEN times for my fridge not cooling. It stops working literally every week and still has not been replaced. While the team does eventually show up, they only provide temporary fixes instead of thoroughly going through the apt and finding and fixing problem areas. Additionally, all of the 2br are on the top floor which is commonly rented to young families-meaning you will hear screaming, crying, dragging of furniture, loud noises all day and night. I am so uncomfortable living here. If you can afford to live elsewhere I would recommend doing so.

Wonderful experience before and during move in; however, things completely changed once living in the community. Appliances continue to break, parking is scarce, and the shuttle service to the Metro station stopped a couple months ago. Although I am leaving at the beginning of next month, trying to get prorated rent reduced so I won't have to pay a hefty amount in two apartments was something that was not offered even though I am not staying during the full month/the intended lease date.

The leasing office NEVER answers the phone for current residents. For some reason they put in a work order which requires me to remove everything from al of my cabinets within less than 24 hrs on a business day. I have a job. If it's not empty, they'll charge me $75. I've called TWICE and cannot reach ANYONE. It's been an on going issue where you can never reach someone at the leasing office. Hire a secretary if you can't seem to have available staff!!!!! And give your residents more of a notice because I can guarantee you my cabinets are not going to be emptied.
