So I stayed here for roughly 2 years, and now that my security deposit is cashed I feel like I can write my genuine review. So the good: it's really lax here. They say there's a pet fee but people I know who have lived there don't pay it. They say no smoking but there's a few smokers. This apartment complex won't cause you problems if you don't cause them problems, and that's a plus. The bad: they institued random fees that I only found out about after looking at my bill and wondering why my rent went up. There wasn't much warning, but it is what it is. The front office is impossible to contact timely. They replaced all lock and key locks with electronic locks, getting me locked out of my apartment on they day of install. When I called the front office they were of no help, and to this day still haven't gotten a call back. These electronic locks are dying on people and locking them out, they need someone special to come replace their batteries as well. This place is also a little over priced for what your getting. The hallway between my living room and bedroom is bigger than the kitchen (aka the hallway with a stove). But it's what you get for 700-800 squat ft. If you have a apartment near the playground, negotiate a lower rate because you will NEVER get to open your windows in the summer. These children scream bloody murder from 8am-8pm every day during the summer. Not a fault on the apartment, just some parents need to better discipline their kids. Now bugs. I had a few friends say they had bug problems. One of my friends moved 10 minutes away to a new place just because they couldn't solve their bug problem. However, I never encountered any of those bugs. Our outdoor storage unit would get these gross cricket things in the summer, but come winter we'd be fine. I think we had a squirrel hiding out in between my floor and the floor above me??? Never got it checked out. Finishing it off with some good: the location is nice. I miss being walking distance to Greenbrier. It's about 15 minutes from the Vienna metro which is also nice, considering prices go up by like 200 bucks starting at the Vienna metro. They never charge you for maitainence during your stay there. They have a free package locker too. Overall, it's alright. It's not bad but it's not good. The refurbished apartments are pretty nice. It is what it is, a temporary place to stay. A little overpriced for the size, but if you're looking for a place to live for a year or two without someone breathing down your neck it's Ok. Pray you don't have bugs. EDIT: I forgot to mention that during my time here I had many things stolen from my vehicle overnight and on another occasion 2-3 cars had their tires stolen.
