Update: Despite management replying to this review that they would contact me about my concerns, I still have not received any information or been called back by the leasing office. Extremely disappointed with treatment of residents and lease renewal process. I have a 12 month lease at parktown for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment with a balcony. My base rent is $3,697.00, however they charge around $150.00 a month for utilities and other misc fees, so I typically already pay over $3800.00 a month, not including cable/wifi or parking. For reasons unbeknownst to me, I received notice that my best renewal rate would be base rent of $3,844.00 for only an 11 month lease... not including utilities and WiFi. With the increased rent, my apartment will cost over $4,000 a month, despite my friends who also have a 2 bed, 2 bath with a balcony receiving a renewal rate around $3,600... There are many hidden fees, such as pest control, luxer package system, trash (they don't take out your trash or recycling so?), and other miscellaneous fees. Therefore, I will be paying over $4,000 for my apartment if I was to renew. If this apartment complex was luxurious or if my unit had been improved during my lease term, perhaps this increase could be reasonable, however, the apartments are OLD and you can tell. The washer and dryer are SMALL. The dryer is "European" so it has a censor that stops drying when clothes are damp... forcing you to restart it multiple times before clothes are dry. This makes laundry days an ORDEAL. Dishwasher is so small, and isn't powerful enough to dissolve dish pods, you have to use liquid detergent. Also seem old and smell musty a lot. The toilets in the bathrooms have EXTREMELY low water. Not great storage or lighting either. The sound pollution in the west tower, which overlooks the art museum, is INSANE. I had a hard time sleeping when I first moved in because of all the engines revving all night long. If the noise from the parkway doesn't keep you up, the clicking from your AC unit will. The AC units seem ancient and are so loud as they click on and off at night. Not to mention the complex turned on the AC way too late, after temperatures hit the high 70s. I was on the parking waitlist for months, despite being told it wouldn't take long to get a parking spot before I signed my lease. The day before Xmas weekend, my car was towed without warning from out front of my tower. I was loading it before traveling home. It is very difficult to get in contact with the leasing office. You have to leave a voicemail and wait for them to call you back, over and over again, or walk in in person. They used to host lots of events for residents, there is new management, who has hosted very different and less events for residents. Very disappointed at the lack of cooperation or consideration for renewing residents. Don't recommend signing a lease here if you plan on doing more than one lease term.
