I lived in the smallest studio at Park Towne in the north tower. Overall, my experience was decent. The views from my Apartment were amazing, as expected and I really enjoyed the view most of all. What I liked: Being a transplant to Philly, I felt this was the perfect location for me to get to know the city. Surrounded by running and biking trails, steps to many different neighborhoods, it was perfect for me. Everyday conveniences like having the market (now closed) on site really played into my decision to make Park Towne home. The finishes inside of the Apartment were cheap, but looked really nice. I loved the layout of my Apartment at just over 400 square feet I was able to create an "oasis" for myself. I did struggle with finding a couch but compromised with a love seat, chair and a small desk which fit the space well on the living side of the Apartment. You do have to get a little creative! The management isn't "in your face" like I've experienced at other rental communities. I can't really comment on management because I hardly had to interact with them at all during my time at the community. I toured with a leasing agent, spoke with the front desk twice, and exchanged a few emails with the community manager at move-out time. Things I didn't like: The bathroom vent connected to the neighbors vent. I knew going into it from other reviews this may potentially be an issue but when I say I could hear literally everything next door, I mean I heard EVERYTHING. Their fights, things I didn't necessarily want to hear, and it made it quite awkward. Keep a stack of batteries next to the thermostat. I wish I was kidding when I said I would have to replace the batteries every 2-3 weeks or so. It was super fun in a south facing Apartment to come home to a boiling hot Apartment because the batteries die almost instantly. The cooling system cooled the Apartment quickly, but again I was in the smallest studio. Being in the North tower facing south, the traffic noise was pretty bad. Going into it, I would have wanted something on the opposite side of the building. There are a few times where it would wake me up. The Washer and dryer absolutely SUCK as mentioned in other reviews. In the studio, the dryer took about 3 hours to dry clothes. It would shrink EVERYTHING regardless of what setting you put it on, and it quickly heated up the studio to try to dry anything. I relocated back to Minnesota. Based on what I wrote above, I would have renewed my lease had I stayed in Philly but there are definitely some things that are a bit annoying. I enjoyed the community events, having the largest pool in the city at your fingertips, and showing friends & family who came to visit the best of Philly which was right outside the door. Thanks for a relatively good experience!
