When my husband I moved to Los Angeles we selected the Palazzo East as our first apartment. It seemed to be a very nice complex with great amenities and we loved that it was gated with a security guard. After living there for a few months, however, our opinion changed. Sure there's a guard that has to let in visitors, and assigned visitor parking, but that didn't seem to stop people from parking in our assigned spot (that we paid for no less) and forcing us to park elsewhere. When we notified management, the couldn't have cared less. On that note, the staff here is what makes this place exceptionally awful. Heaven forbid they would have to put down their cell phones and work. Every time I had to deal with them, be it for the aforementioned parking issue, our neighbor's cigarette smoke coming into our unit, or anything else, I never received the attention I should have. At one point, they lied to me about purchasing an additional garage remote. I was told it was a $100 returnable deposit, but when I moved out I was informed that the price was nonrefundable. While this isn't true for everyone, I found most of the other residents to be major douche bags. Douche bags who would drive maniacally through the parking garage or hang out by the pool being loud an obnoxious hoping someone would give them some attention. I do have to say, that the maintenance staff is truly exceptional. They are amazing. Anytime I had a maintenance issue, it was promptly addressed and taken care of with great attention to detail. The maintenance staff would always clean up and other than the note they left you'd never know that they were there. But because no one chooses an apartment based on the maintenance staff, I must say to stay away from this place. For the price, you can find a better deal in this area, especially if you are willing to forego all of the amenities you won't likely use all the time.
