Old appliances in disrepair. A sensor in a washer/dryer failed causing my apt. to flood. Much of my furniture was ruined, and I was responsible for putting a claim in with my renters insurance. I was told by maintenance that they are aware this happens, so basically the way that they know to replace this component is after it fails and floods. My dishwasher does not work, and produces a kind of burnt plastic smell while operating - as far as maintenance is concerned, it works fine and it's normal for the heating element to stink when heating up. I am no longer able to use my dishwasher. There are roaches and mice, although not too bad for an old building. There is always a lot of trash all over because they let the dumpsters over flow through the weekend, I have not seen any effort to pick up; at any time. I can see several items including a large dead Xmas through my windows. My kitchen cabinets are garbage, they are old, ugly, caked with grease, and do not have pulls. Also - the trim is cracked, and it looks like a ten year old painted around them, there is paint all over them. There are also screw holes and unfinished areas where someone apparently switched the way the doors swing (see pics). I was not given any kind of reasonable notification that my rent would go up, and ended up kind of stuck in the lease for another year. You do not receive any kind of written notification, and can only see that your rent is going up for next years lease if you log into their portal - which I have no reason to do since I have auto pay setup. I tried to ask for new kitchen cabinets (I see my neighbors in my building have nicer, newer cabinets), and instead they send a tech to look for broken doors. My biggest complaint here is a tremendous lack of communication - not only with me, but within departments at AIMCO (mgmt. co). I was promised calls back several times and completely blown off -with the exception of a nice woman from the leasing office who had no authority to resolve anything. This place is not worth what I pay, not even close.
