I'll admit, I'm writing this updated review when I am rather annoyed. Overall, I still think 3400 is a fine place to live. We just renewed our lease, in fact. However, I'm going to be direct- there is a definite trashy element of young kids who treat this place like it is a frat house. It's not uncommon to see bags of Del Taco trash, empty beer bottles, etc littered around. About a week ago I was in my kitchen and heard glass shatter. When I went outside later, I realized it was because some (presumably drunk) jackass has smashed the case around the fire extinguisher...there were huge shards or broken glass allover the hallway. To 3400's credit, they did clean it up quickly. But, unfortunately I can't say the same about my latest frustration. Several days ago someone urinated in the stairwell- is this an apartment complex or a subway station? The stairwell smelled horrible. I called the office, explained the situation and asked that it be cleaned up. I was told the would send someone over right away. When we got home from work and it still hadn't been cleaned up, my fiancé went over to the office to ask in person that it be cleaned up. By today, when it still stunk, I called again. You can probably guess where this is going, right? Finally we gave up hope that management would ever follow through on cleaning it up, and took matters into our own hands and sprayed the urine soaked floor down with bleach. I understand that management can't control the behavior of every "adult" who lives here, but if they choose to rent to any idiot they should take responsibility for cleaning up after them. I almost feel guilty leaving a 2 star review, because, as I said, our overall experience living here hasn't been bad---but for almost $2300/month, I would expect better.
